Despite the growing buzz online, Rambo 6: The New Blood is not an officially confirmed sequel. The trailer circulating under this title is entirely fan-made, stitched together from previous films and unrelated footage to create the illusion of a new chapter in John Rambo’s story. Neither Millennium Media nor Lionsgate has announced any plans for a sixth installment starring Sylvester Stallone, and the studio has made no public statements regarding a 2025 release.

After Rambo: Last Blood premiered in 2019, it was widely regarded as the final chapter in the saga. The film portrayed an aging Rambo confronting a brutal Mexican cartel and closed with a reflective ending that many interpreted as a farewell. Stallone himself has expressed reluctance to continue the role, citing both his age and a desire to leave the character with dignity. In interviews, he’s even joked that Rambo’s next enemy would be “arthritis,” not war.

Instead of a sequel, the franchise is now shifting in a different direction. In 2025, Millennium Media announced a prequel film simply titled John Rambo, set to explore the character’s early years during the Vietnam War. Directed by Jalmari Helander, this project will feature a younger actor in the role, with Stallone stepping aside entirely. Filming is expected to begin later this year in Southeast Asia, aiming for a grittier, origin-based reboot of the mythic soldier.

As it stands, Rambo 6: The New Blood remains a compelling fan concept but nothing more. While the legacy of John Rambo endures, any continuation of his story will likely come through a new face and a different era. For now, Stallone’s Rambo bows out with the quiet fury of Last Blood—a fitting end to an American action icon.
