Friends (2025)

Years after going their separate ways, the six friends find themselves drawn back to New York as life brings unexpected changes. Monica and Chandler are living in the suburbs, raising their teenage twins while trying to hold onto their sense of identity beyond parenting. Ross and Rachel, now finally married, are adjusting to the bittersweet reality of sending their daughter Emma off to college. Meanwhile, Joey returns from Los Angeles after years of struggling to keep his acting career afloat, looking to reconnect with the people who always felt like home.

As the group begins spending more time together, they slowly rediscover the rhythm of their old friendship, with a few grown-up complications along the way. Joey proposes opening a small restaurant with Monica, reigniting her passion for food, while Phoebe, happily married to Mike, continues to march to the beat of her own drum—now working as a music therapist and offering her usual offbeat wisdom. Their old hangout, Central Perk, has been remodeled but still holds its charm, now managed by Gunther’s nephew, serving as the perfect backdrop for their reunions.

Though their lives look very different from when they were in their 20s, familiar struggles reappear in new forms: Joey wrestles with feeling left behind, Ross becomes more reflective about his role as a father, and Rachel wonders what her future looks like beyond motherhood. Even the next generation gets involved, as Emma finds herself unexpectedly drawn to one of Chandler and Monica’s twins, leading to a mix of hilarious and awkward parenting moments. Through it all, the group leans on each other, reminding themselves that growing older doesn’t mean growing apart.

In the final moments, the six gather one last time inside Monica and Chandler’s old apartment, now empty and ready to be sold. Surrounded by memories and laughter, they reflect on everything they’ve shared, realizing that no matter how much time has passed, their connection is still as strong as ever. As they leave, the camera pans to Central Perk, where a new group of friends now occupies the iconic orange couch—quietly passing the torch and reminding us that while times change, true friendship never goes out of style.
