Beck (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) is a skilled bounty hunter who wants to leave his dangerous job behind and start a peaceful life by opening his own restaurant. Before he can do that, his boss assigns him one last mission: travel to the Amazon jungle and retrieve Travis Walker (Seann William Scott), the rebellious son of a wealthy businessman. What seems like a simple task quickly turns into a wild adventure.
Upon arriving in Brazil, Beck discovers that Travis is searching for a legendary golden artifact called “El Gato del Diablo.” However, the region is controlled by the ruthless Hatcher (Christopher Walken), a powerful and exploitative mine owner who will do anything to keep the artifact for himself. Beck reluctantly teams up with Travis, but the two constantly clash due to their opposite personalities.
As they navigate the treacherous jungle, they face numerous obstacles, including hostile rebels, wild animals, and Hatcher’s heavily armed forces. Along the way, they are helped by Mariana (Rosario Dawson), a local rebel leader who has her own reasons for wanting to overthrow Hatcher. Through intense fights and hilarious mishaps, Beck and Travis learn to trust each other and work together.
In the end, Beck overcomes his reluctance to fight and takes down Hatcher, freeing the local people from his tyranny. With Travis safely returned, Beck finally gains his freedom from his bounty hunter life. However, their adventure ends with a humorous twist, showing that some things never go as planned. With a perfect mix of action, comedy, and adventure, The Rundown remains a fun and exciting ride for movie fans
