Sinners is a supernatural horror film set in the 1930s American South during the Jim Crow era. Written, produced, and directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as twin brothers Smoke and Stack, alongside Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, and Delroy Lindo.
The story follows brothers Smoke and Stack, who attempt to leave behind their troubled past and return to their hometown in hopes of starting anew. However, they soon realize that a sinister force far greater than their past awaits them there.
Ryan Coogler began developing the project through his production company, Proximity Media, in January 2024, with Michael B. Jordan attached as the lead. After a bidding war between studios, Warner Bros. Pictures secured the distribution rights.
